Porto Botte is a wetland located south-west coast of Sardinia, Ideal habitat for many species of birds including flamingos. Part of the Beach of Porto Botte belongs administratively to the Municipality of San Giovanni Suergiu, another part to the Municipality of Giba. The beach of Porto Botte is a wide bay of about 2 km, located close to the kite-spots of Sant’Antioco and Punta Trettu.
The kite-spot of Porto Botte is very good with the wind of Mistral (blowing from North-West). The Mistral blows onshore and gives choppy water. The wind of Ponente (blowing from west) can be good. Scrirocco can be good if strong. Other winds are not working well for kitesurfing at Porto Botte.
The kitesurfing spot of Porto Botte is suitable both for advanced riders, that can enjoy the big spaces to try their tricks, and for beginners. Anyway, Punta Trettu is more advisable for beginners. In fact, in the kite-spot of Punta Trettu, beginners could find both flat and shallow water with steady wind: a paradise for kitesurfers.

Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, is about 90 kilometers away from Porto Botte.
From Cagliari get the S.S. 130 to Carbonia then continue to Sant’Antioco till the village of San Giovanni Suergiu. Once in San Giovanni Suergiu, take the road towards Giba, for around 5 Km, till Porto Botte.
